Amid the celebrations, Bumrah’s interview turns to his son being there to see his father win the World Cup.

Jasprit Bumrah’s interview amid India’s on-field celebrations lands on a detail beyond the flags and medals: his son was there to see his father win the World Cup.

“There’s no better feeling,” Bumrah says. The words are brief, but they bring a family moment into the noise of a team celebration. Around him, players gather on the grass beneath Indian flags; in the interview, he talks about the win and his son being present.

For Bumrah, the moment is both a team achievement and something his child can share. The microphone catches the words; the detail that stays with them is his son seeing his father lift the World Cup.
