Jofra Archer’s measured charge to the crease

SportLocation Cricket Desk · 12 Oct 2026

Jofra Archer’s run-up brings bowler, batter and umpire into a single, sharply defined passage of play.

Jofra Archer’s run-up is the telling detail: a measured approach down the pitch, with the batter waiting at the far crease and the umpire set behind him.

It is a compact look at the work before the ball reaches the batter: Archer’s approach, the waiting stance at the far end and the umpire’s position behind the bowler.
