Jofra Archer: the drive behind the delivery

SportLocation Cricket Desk · 17 Oct 2026

Jofra Archer’s bowling is framed by the forward momentum of his delivery stride, carrying him towards the batter at the crease.

Jofra Archer’s delivery stride is all forward intent. In the clearest passage, he is airborne as he moves towards the batter, with the umpire behind him and the pitch narrowing the route to the crease.

That forward drive is the detail to watch: the run-up gathers into a committed leap, taking Archer into the delivery rather than leaving him static at the crease. The batter is set, waiting for the ball, and the contrast makes the bowler’s approach legible even in a brief glimpse.

The wider sequence moves between different bowling scenes, so the useful focus is this piece of craft: Archer’s momentum carries him through the stride towards the batter.
