Rohit Sharma: down low, through the line
SportLocation Cricket Desk · 2 Oct 2026
A kneeling stroke and a later cross-body swing show two distinct shapes in Rohit Sharma’s batting sequence.
Rohit Sharma’s batting sequence moves from a strikingly low position to a more upright swing. In blue India kit, he drops onto one knee and brings the bat through with both hands as the white ball appears beside him.
That low base lets him get beneath the ball’s line; the raised finish follows the stroke rather than stopping at contact. The sequence then shifts to a standing stance, knees bent and bat held across his body, before Sharma swings through in front of the stumps.
The contrast is in the shape of the shots: first, a deep kneel and lifted bat; then a balanced setup and a cross-body path. In the later swing, his hands stay together on the handle as the bat travels across him.
