Rohit Sharma keeps it compact at the crease

SportLocation Cricket Desk · 7 Sept 2026

Rohit Sharma’s shot here is all about control: a short, tidy swing through the line, with fielders set and waiting.

Rohit Sharma does not go looking for drama here. He stays side-on, keeps the hands tight and lets the bat come through in a compact arc in front of the pads.

It is the sort of stroke that asks for timing rather than force. The close field stays honest, the ring watches on, and Sharma’s job is simply to meet the ball cleanly and keep it moving.

The wider stadium view afterwards only underlines the setting: a packed ground, fielders spread out, and a pause before the next delivery. But the cricketing point has already been made. This is control first, flourish second.
