Virat Kohli’s quiet salute after the bat lift

SportLocation Cricket Desk · 14 Sept 2026

Virat Kohli turns a simple acknowledgment into a neat little flourish: bat raised, kiss sent, hand out to the crowd.

Virat Kohli does not need much room to make a point. In this clip, he lifts the bat, smiles, and then turns the moment into a clear thank-you, first with a hand to the mouth and then with an open-palm salute.

It is a small piece of cricket theatre, but the sequence matters. The bat lift reads as acknowledgment; the blown kiss gives it warmth; the final gesture makes it public. Kohli keeps the exchange brief and direct, which is exactly why it lands.

There is no need to dress it up as anything bigger than that. The appeal is in the control: a quick celebration, a nod to the crowd, and then the gesture is done.
