Charles Leclerc threads the opening bend
SportLocation Formula 1 Desk · 11 Sept 2026
Charles Leclerc’s onboard view shows the Ferrari being placed early for the corner, then unwound onto the straight with the next turn already in sight.
Charles Leclerc’s onboard lap is all about placement. The Ferrari is turned in early, the front wheels loaded as the car commits to the left-hander, then the steering is eased back as the road opens out.
That matters because the lap is built on keeping the car tidy between corners. Leclerc gets the nose pointed, uses the full width of the circuit and avoids wasting speed on the exit.
The straight that follows is brief, but it shows the same idea: settle the car, keep it centred and prepare for the next change of direction rather than fighting the surface.
It is a small sequence, but a useful one. The car never looks ragged, and the line through the bend is the point of the piece.
