Daniel Ricciardo and the split-second choreography of a Red Bull pit stop

SportLocation Formula 1 Desk · 15 Oct 2026

Red Bull crew members work in close formation around the car, then clear its path as it moves through the pit lane.

Daniel Ricciardo’s Red Bull pit-lane sequence puts the crew’s coordination at the centre of the action. Mechanics lean in around the car, with one crouched by a wheel and others working close along its side.

Then the car moves past. The change is the point: a crowded pocket of activity gives way to a clear route through the lane, with a crew member holding pit equipment beside it. There is no room for the team’s separate tasks to become separate problems; each has to fit around the car’s arrival and departure.

Later, Ricciardo appears in Red Bull kit. The footage doesn’t establish a particular race or date, but the pit-lane detail is plain: the car’s passage depends on a group working in tight quarters, then getting out of its way.
