Verstappen and the uphill corner that bites

SportLocation Formula 1 Desk · 23 Sept 2026

Max Verstappen’s clip shows Formula 1 cars attacking a steep, flowing right-hander where a small slide can quickly become a messy chase.

Max Verstappen’s clip is all about the corner doing the work. The track rises hard into a long right-hander, and the first car to lose a touch of grip leaves a faint haze behind it before the rest of the field arrives.

That matters because the bend gives drivers very little time to settle the car once it starts to move. The line tightens, the exit climbs, and the pack behind has to commit to the same patch of tarmac with almost no room to improvise.

By the end, the rear lights and staggered gaps tell the story: one moment of instability, then a string of cars threading through the same uphill lane. It is the sort of sequence that makes a fast corner look even faster.
