Chris Bumstead: the detail in a bodybuilding pose

SportLocation Fitness Desk · 8 Oct 2026

A turn of the torso and a change in hand position reshape the emphasis as Chris Bumstead moves through a series of bodybuilding poses.

In bodybuilding, a pose is more than a held flex. A small change in angle can alter what comes forward, and this sequence gives that adjustment centre stage.

Chris Bumstead moves from a partly turned stance into a hands-clasped pose, then changes again, bringing one forearm across his abdomen. The positions are not interchangeable: turning the torso and setting the arms differently changes the presentation of the upper body.

The final hands-behind-head pose opens the elbows and changes the outline once more. There is no need to read a workout or competition into the setting; what is visible is the craft of moving between poses and holding each one clearly.
