Kevin Levrone and the craft of holding a pose

SportLocation Fitness Desk · 7 Oct 2026

Kevin Levrone’s overhead pose shows how a controlled turn can change the presentation of the torso.

Kevin Levrone’s posing sequence is built around more than a flex. He holds each shape long enough for its lines to register, then changes the presentation with a turn of the torso.

The overhead pose makes that shift especially clear. With his hands joined above his head, Levrone angles his body rather than facing squarely forward. The adjustment changes how the chest and midsection are displayed, while the held position keeps the pose composed.

Elsewhere in the sequence, he moves through a raised-arm stance and a flexed pose. The variety comes from changing the shape and angle, not from rushing between positions. In bodybuilding, that control is part of the presentation: a pose has to be set, held and made legible.

Here, the detail to watch is the turn beneath the joined hands, which shifts the view across his torso.
