Kevin Levrone on finding peace in the gym

SportLocation Fitness Desk · 18 Oct 2026

As Kevin Levrone trains, he describes the gym as a place where he found peace and something nobody could take away.

Kevin Levrone’s account of the gym begins well before the weights. In the clip, he recalls losing his father when he was 10 and his mother ten years later. He says that researching health and how to eat led him to the gym.

“I found peace,” Levrone says, describing training as almost like therapy. He also recalls being laughed at by other children at school because he did not have a father. Against that, the gym became a place he could claim as his own: “I found something that nobody could take away from me.”

The images move between a held pose, a hooded pause between efforts and a barbell press with a spotter close by. That press gives the account a physical setting, but the point is in Levrone’s words: the gym was more than somewhere to lift. It was where he found a sense of refuge.
