Tom Platz and the business of leg day
SportLocation Fitness Desk · 12 Sept 2026
Tom Platz is shown driving through a leg-extension set, with the frame tightening on the quads and the strain of the rep.
Tom Platz does not need much room to make the point. In this gym clip, the emphasis is on a seated leg-extension set, with the machine pad, the thighs and the effort all locked together in the same movement.
The best moment comes in the close-up: the quads fill the frame as the rep reaches its hardest part, and the exercise stops being background training and becomes the whole story. That is the appeal here — not speed, not flash, just a lower-body set that asks for control and then asks for more.
By the later frames, Platz is still leaning back into the work, face tight, legs still under load. It is a simple bit of gym craft, but it leaves no doubt about where the strain is meant to sit.
