Min Woo Lee’s shot with the tree in the way

SportLocation Golf Desk · 24 Sept 2026

A ball tucked beside a tree leaves Min Woo Lee with little room to work out a clean route.

Min Woo Lee faces an awkward bit of course architecture: his ball sits close to a broad tree trunk, with the obstacle crowding the space between him and the target. It is a setup that makes the line matter before the club moves.

The golfer settles over the ball with the tree filling one side of the picture. The challenge is not simply to send it forward; the trunk limits the available swing and makes a direct route difficult. Lee has to find a way to make contact without letting the obstacle dictate the whole shot.

That tight lie is the clip’s defining detail. In golf, a blocked line changes the calculation: a safe escape may be more useful than trying to force a shot through a gap. Here, the ball’s position beside the trunk is what gives the setup its tension.
