Rory McIlroy in smooth tee-shot swing as BMW Championship form stays in focus
SportLocation Golf Desk · 27 Aug 2026
Rory McIlroy is shown completing a controlled tee-shot swing in slow motion, with recent press coverage pointing to his strong BMW Championship run and final-pairing surge before a third-place finish.
Rory McIlroy is the named golfer in this tee-shot sequence, which captures him moving through a full swing on a teeing area and finishing in a balanced high follow-through. The setting is a bright outdoor practice or tee box area, with sponsor boards and a numbered sign behind him and palm trees in the distance.
The swing arrives against a run of recent BMW Championship coverage that had McIlroy vaulting into the final pairing after a remarkable turnaround, before Sky Sports later reported him finishing third as Wyndham Clark closed out the PGA Tour victory. That wider context gives the shot extra relevance: it sits within a week when McIlroy was firmly in the mix at one of the FedEx Cup play-off events.
The visual is simple but telling. McIlroy is shown over a teed ball in a calm address position before coiling the club high and rotating through impact, ending with his weight on the front side and the club wrapped over his shoulder. It is the sort of composed tee-shot motion that fits the competitive pressure of a late-stage play-off event.
