Tommy Fleetwood: “I felt like we did it together”

A raised cap, an embrace and a few words of thanks make this a moment about Fleetwood and the people who supported him.

Tommy Fleetwood raises his cap to a crowd, then turns to embrace another person. In the interview that follows, he gives the moment its meaning: “I hope everybody knows how grateful I am for it.”

He goes on to say he had promised they would do it together, and that he felt they had. The words make the celebration feel shared, not simply a greeting from golfer to spectators. The embrace gives that thought a quiet, human counterpart.

There is no swing or scorecard detail here. Instead, Fleetwood’s thanks are the point: a short acknowledgement of the support around him, delivered after the crowd-facing gesture.
