Kylian Mbappe’s jog, and the gesture that stands out

SportLocation Football Desk · 5 Oct 2026

Mbappe jogs across the pitch, hand near his face, before turning back towards the field.

Kylian Mbappe keeps moving across the pitch, a measured jog carrying him towards the touchline. One hand stays near his face while his other arm crosses his torso: a small gesture that gives the passage its distinctive detail.

The pace is unhurried rather than a sprint. Mbappe continues past players in contrasting kits, then turns away and heads back towards the field. The sequence offers no clear explanation for the gesture, so its meaning is best left open.

As he moves on, the name and number on the back of his shirt come into view: MBAPPE, 10.
