Luka Modric carries the ball across the pitch with two claret-shirted defenders pressing nearby.

Luka Modric keeps the ball close as he moves across the pitch, with two claret-shirted defenders closing around him.

The detail is in the carry: the ball stays within reach as the space narrows, giving Modric room to continue moving rather than letting the approaching defenders dictate his next step. The sequence then cuts towards the goal area, but does not clearly show the outcome.

His touch remains close to his foot as the nearest defender steps across.
