Andy Murray and the fast reset
SportLocation Tennis Desk · 12 Sept 2026
Andy Murray’s grass-court drill is built around the same pattern every time: strike, recover, set again.
Andy Murray spends this clip doing the unglamorous part of a forehand properly: finishing the swing and getting straight back into position.
The first frame shows the ball still in play and Murray already turning through the shot. A few seconds later, he is back on his toes, racket lowered in front, ready for the next feed.
That recovery matters on grass, where the ball stays low and the next contact can come quickly. Murray’s shape stays compact rather than decorative, with the racket finishing across the body before he resets.
It is a small drill, but the message is clear: the shot is not complete until the feet have caught up with the hands.
