Carlos Alcaraz’s low-ball touch pulls the rally forward
SportLocation Tennis Desk · 30 Sept 2026
A low ball brings Alcaraz’s opponent towards the net, turning the clay-court exchange into a test of reach and recovery.
Carlos Alcaraz’s rally here is shaped by a ball kept low over the clay. He moves in with his racket extended, while his opponent comes forward on the far side. The exchange shifts towards the net, where there is less time and room to reset.
That change of court position is the detail to watch: the low ball draws the opponent closer, and Alcaraz has to cover ground to meet the reply. The rally continues across the net before Alcaraz walks on with his racket lowered.
